JAMB profile is an individual account for telling the JAMB board that you are among the students that would be writing the JAMB examination in that designated year and exam diet.
JAMB uses the profile code to know the number of students who are interested to participate in the examination. Both the UTME and Direct Entry registration.
The profile code is used uniquely to record the data of individuals on the JAMB database.
5 things you should know about the JAMB profile code
1. The JAMB profile code is meant to be used by a single candidate.
2. One sim card can not be used for more than one individual for the profile code generation.
3. A single National Identification Number(NIN) can not be used by more than one candidate to create a profile code.
4. The JAMB profile code doesn't expire. It is valid for many years.
5. Never disclose your profile code to anyone because it is sensitive.
How / When to use JAMB profile code
To be able to get your code when you send a request to the JAMB database, adhere closely to the following steps.
Type NIN and your NIN number and send it as a text message to either 55019 or 66019 with the phone number you used for the NIN registration.
For example, if 12345678901 is my NIN number, I will send the message like this
NIN 12345678901 to 55019
Please note the white space I used after I typed NIN. You must include it to avoid error messages. Coma and hyphens are not allowed instead use white space to separate the input.
Profile code is only used during JAMB registration. It can be used when the UTME management opens a window for fresh registration which usually begin in the early month of January to late April. Apart from this usage, you are not allowed to use it for any other purpose.
Lost/stolen/damaged phone number/sim card
If you lost your sim card, it was stolen, or it got damaged, you will have to retrieve the sim to be able to receive the profile code with your phone.
You can also link another number to your NIN, then you will now use the new linked phone number to generate your profile code.

Can I use my previous profile code to register for this year's JAMB examination?
Yes. You can use it as long as the information you used during the registration is still correct till the date you want to register for another examination.
Can I use someone's NIN or number be used by another person?
