  • From 100 to 75 percent are classified as excellent which is always represented by the A1 symbol. This is the highest level a student can get.
  • From 74 to 70 are graded Very Good. It is represented by the symbol B2
  • 69 to 65 is regarded as Good and it is represented by the symbol B3.
  • From 64-60 is marked as credit. The symbol C4 is used.
  • 59 to 55 is also called credits and it is represented by the symbol C5.
  • From 55 to 50 stands for credits. It is represented by the symbol C6. This Is the least score.
  • 49 to 45 percent is graded as pass. This represents by D7.

How do WAEC calculate results

To know how waec arrived at a designated result, add your objectives and your theory marks together, divide by the total marks allotted to that paper and multiply it by 100, then you will have your answer. What did I mean by this? Let's break it down with a formula.

This is the formula for calculating the waec result

 Actual score/Total score ÷ 100.

We should not be confused with this formula. Because each result is summed up with a total mark. This always varies from subject to subject.

Assuming waec allotted 50 marks for Physics objective, 60 for theory, and 40 for practical, the overall score will be 150.

Let's take for instance that Mr. John participated in a Physic waec exam and score 45 in the objectives, 30 in practicals, and 50 in theory questions.
Thus, Mr. John's average make will be 125/150×100
= 183. Wow! That's awesome.

This is how all the subjects are calculated. Always remember the formula and the procedures.

That will be all for now. If you like this tutorial, don't fail to share it with your friends. You can as well mention a word of gratitude to the author.
