According to the Cambridge dictionary explanation, the mock examination is an examination that is taken in school before the real one. This exam helps to test the ability of students who are preparing to write the real one.

The JAMB mock is just the same as other mock examinations. According to the announcement made by the head of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Examination, Prof. Ishaq Olarewaju Oloyede, he said that the purpose of the mock is to help the immediate students to see if they are capable to pass the JAMB examination.

The mock test can help a student to know his strength and weakness. This test also helps the student to know the scope of how the JAMB management set their questions and the way to use the CBT equipment.

is the JAMB mock exam compulsory?

The mock examination is not compulsory to write. It is a personal decision.

How do I register for it?

You can register for the mock examination during your JAMB registration. When you are filling out the form you will be provided with a column to select whether or not you will participate in the mock examination. You are required to signify on the form that you are interested.

Nowadays, JAMB no longer inquires about the permission of students. You will automatically be registered once you register for the main exam. The test is not compulsory. Each candidate has the freedom to choose. Even if you are registered for it, you will still need to decide whether to write or not to write it.

How much do I need to pay to write a JAMB mock?

The mock registration is free to write. You don't have to pay any money to register for it. But you will be charged a token of one thousand (1000) naira for a maintenance fee by the CBT center. This is the only money you will be requested to pay.

 How will I know that I am writing the JAMB mock?

You will be notified through either the phone number or email address you use during your JAMB registration.

When is JAMB mock written?

The mock test is usually conducted two (2) weeks before the main JAMB examination is conducted. During this time you will be required to print out the mock slip

Will your mock score be added to the JAMB exam score?

No. Your mock score will not be calculated with your JAMB score. The two results are independent of each other.
