This article is a guide for students who wish to undergo the Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) regularization process.

Who is this article for?

This guide is for students who fall under any of the following categories:
  • Those who do not have a JAMB registration number and are enrolled as part-time students such as ND, HND, and NCE in any of the polytechnics, colleges of education, or those who want to gain admission through JAMB direct entry.
  • Those who are interested in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) mobilization program have to do their JAMB regularization to participate.

What is JAMB regularization? JAMB regularization, also known as JAMB late application, is the process of validating your current admission details with the institution that offered you admission and with JAMB.

You don't need to do the JAMB regularization if your JAMB  details correspond with the ones on the database of the institution that offers you admission. 

If you have doubts about whether or not you need to do the JAMB regularization, the best solution is for you to Check your JAMB Admission Status.

The money you need to do JAMB regulation

If you already have a JAMB registration number, you need to pay ₦5,000. If you don't have a registration number, you will be required to pay ₦10,000 for the regularization process.

Requirements/ Documents needed 

1. Biometric Data

Full name, Date of birth, state of origin, the local government of origin, marital status, and a verified email address.  (All of this data must correspond with the one in your institution database)

2. You O' level information

This includes the original copy of your O" level result(e.g WAEC or NECO), examination number, center, subject combination, and their respective grades.

3. Your institution's details

You need to submit your institution name, your admission number, and your matriculation year.

There are two ways available for you to do your JAMB regularization. You can do it at any JAMB-accredited center or do it by yourself on the JAMB candidates portal

To do it at the JAMB accredited center, walk to any JAMB office closer to you and tell them you want to regularize your admission. But if you choose to do it yourself, follow the step-by-step procedures below

How to do Regularization on the JAMB portal 

STEP 1: Visit the JAMB official website at www.jamb.gov.ng

STEP 2: Locate and click on the menu bar at the top right-hand corner of the page.

STEP 3: Select the e-Facility(candidates). This will redirect you to the login page

STEP 4: If you are an existing user, log in by using your email address and password. For a new user, you will need to create a new user account on the portal

STEP 5: After you have successfully login, at the bottom right corner of the dashboard locate the click on regularize Admission button as displayed in the picture below



STEP 6: Once you have selected it, a transaction ID will be treated for you on the current page you are on. 

STEP 7: Click the continue button if you would like to use your debit card to pay online. Otherwise, if you want to use a different way to make your payment, kindly copy your generated transaction ID and proceed with any other available payment channel on the portal.

STEP 8: Once your payment has been completed, you will be asked to provide your exam year and your registration number. This will display an application form. 

STEP 9: Fill out the displayed form correctly and submit it.

STEP 10: After this, an indemnity form will be displayed for printing. Fill out the form and submit it to your institution for approval.

STEP 11: Wait for your institution to submit the approval to the appropriate JAMB office.

STEP 12: Once JAMB receives approval from your institution, it will be uploaded to your profile and you will a notification.

After this, JAMB will process your information. If approved your details will be updated.

Note: All part-time students enrolled in Nigerian Tertiary Institutions are directed to visit the JAMB e-facility platform immediately and apply to register their documents individually.

How to check JAMB regularization status

To know the circumstances of your JAMB regularization status, you will receive a message from JAMB through the email address you used to create your account within 24 hours of your application. If you don't get the email, you should log in to your account because a notification will also be displayed on your JAMB portal account

After the regularization - The next step

After your regularized application has been approved by both your institution and the JAMB management, you should proceed to print or change your Admission Letter.
