I created this post for the sake of the student who is going into all forms of engineering courses across the country. Whether you are aiming to study electrical/electronic, chemical, mechanical, petroleum, marine, petrochemical agricultural engineering, or another form of engineering course this tutorial is for you.
This tutorial is most specified for those of you who are going into federal, state universities, or polytechnics. The main aim of this post is to directly choose the right subjects that are accepted by your future university.
If you are here to see the subject combination for an engineering course like the one you have at hand to study, don't leave! Just focus and pay constant attention as I will walk you through this tutorial.
I promise to use a low tone to explain every bit of this post. In case you come across any point that you don't understand, you are free to drop a comment or contact me. I always want my reader to feel free while they are reading my tutorial, so you are one of them.
With that being said, let's get started.
Waec/NECO subject combination of electrical/ electronic engineering
Below are the waec/neco subjects combination for electrical/electronic engineering.
1. Mathematics.
2. English language.
3 physics.
4. Chemistry.
5. Civic education.
6. Biology.
7. Economics.
8. Geography.
9. Computer.
Don't be confused about the above-listed subject combination for electrical engineering. The first 5 are the most recommended subjects for a person who wants to study this course. The remaining ones are just used to complement the top 5 ones. You can change any one of them with any subject from science or social science based on the one that suits your taste. But, never change the first 5 because that is what your course depends on.
In engineering courses, subjects combination is sometimes the same as one another course. I am telling you in case you see something like that.
Waec/NECO subject combination of mechanical engineering
1. Mathematics.
2. Chemistry.
3. Physics.
4. English.
5 and any 5 science or social science subjects. Remember that Mathematics, chemistry, physics, and English are the major subjects here.
Waec/NECO subject combination of chemical engineering
1. Mathematics.
2. English.
3. Chemistry.
4. Physics
5. And any 5 or 4 other science you may like to add to make a total of 9. As a chemical engineer student, your main focus should be on chemistry and physics plus mathematics and the English language. Others are a complement to them.
Waec/NECO subject combination for petroleum and gas.
1. Physics.
3. Chemistry.
3. Mathematics.
4. English language.
5. You can add any 5 subjects either from science or science subject.
Apart from the one that is explained in this tutorial, other engineering courses have the same subject combination as them. If your know I did not mention the name of the course in this tutorial, just know that they have the same subject combination.
JAMB subject combination for all the engineering courses
After waec/neco you will now need to arrange four subjects for your Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination. To do this one you will need to look for the major subject that is accepted by JAMB and choose them.
This subject that I am about to disclose to you is the major combination for all the courses like chemical, mechanical, computer, agricultural, petroleum engineering, or any other engineering course across Nigeria university. They are:
1. Mathematics
2. English.
3. Physics
4. Chemistry.
