Hello guys, in this tutorial am going to walk you through the first 8 (eight) things you need to configure on your Samsung S22 Ultra.
To enjoy your new S22 smoothly and without stress, you will need to fix this thing accordingly because it will prep your phone for daily use and maximize ownership.
I recommend you to do these 8 important things before you start up with your brand new phone.
With that being said, let me walk you through the first steps to the last one.
1. Give your phone a unique name
One of the very first things you need to do with your phone is to give it a unique name. Giving your phone a special name will help to differentiate it from other S22.
Since you are not the only one to own this Samsung product, it will be better to give it a name that can help to recognize its owner. This name could be your name, surname, or any other name you like.
How to give your Samsung S22 a unique name
Go to settings ➡ scroll to the bottom of the phone settings ➡ click on the about phone link ➡ click on generic name ➡ tab the edit button ➡ customize your unique name the way you want.
Based on the information on the page, you can see the reason why you need to give your phone the name that has not yet been used by other persons.
Another thing you should take note of is you can either prefix or suffix the default name you met there or you might decide to change it all. No matter what you decide, always make sure it is the way you want not what others persuade you to do.
Modify your S22 screen
Some people hate pressing the power button every time they want to see their phone screen. If you are in this category you will need to modify your screen setting and change it to the double tap option instead of pressing the power bottom every time.
Another cool thing about these settings is that you can easily see a new message or notification on the screen without even pressing these buttons
How to set up a double tap to on or off on Samsung S22 screen
Go to settings ➡ advanced and features ➡ motion and gestures ➡ enable the double tap on and off both at the right-hand side of the screen.
Other modifications are still there for personal taste. You can enable or disable as many buttons you need or don't need.
Once you have done with the setting, you can check if everything working fine as intended. To do this, close the entire screen of your phone and try to double tap on the screen to see the effects of your settings.
To see your message or notification without pressing the power button any time they enter, you can as well enable the lift away features.
Configure your light and dark mode settings
Initially, the new Samsung S22 ultra is set to 120 adaptive brightness and also comes with a light mode screen. You can adjust the adaptive brightness to automatically change when it is supposed to. To do this you will need to turn on the adaptive brightness option

Refresh rate setting
Refresh rate setting can set your phone to smooth scroll or talk away silky smooth scrolling. When you choose the adaptive option, it will make your phone scroll smooth but will consume little power from your battery but when you chose the standard option, it will save your battery life but takes away silky smooth scrolling.
Update screen resolution
In other to enjoy your S22 screen fully you need to update it to the highest resolution. The new S22 came with three phases of screen resolution, from HD+ (the lowest) to WQHD+ (the highest ). To change your phone to have the best resolution, you will need to set it to WQHD+ format.
How to set up screen resolution on Samsung S22
Go to setting ➡ click on display ➡ click on screen resolution.
By default, the resolution is set to FHD+. To change to the best resolution, you will have to switch to the WQHD+ which offers the best quality resolution.
Types of Samsung S22 resolution
| Resolution | Quality |
|---|---|
| HD+ | low quality |
| FHD+ | great quality |
| WQHD+ | superb quality |
Note: WQHD+ quality is going to stress your battery a little bit, but remains the best level resolution you could ever choose.
Configure your navigation gesture
A newly bought Samsung S22 ultra is built with button navigation. I well know that some people don't like this setting. If you will like this type of gesture you can skip this part otherwise follow up to see how to change from button navigation to swipe navigation.

Go to setting ➡ click display ➡ click the navigation bar ➡ tick on the swipe navigation gesture.
Once you made this change, you will notice that those navigation buttons have been replaced by a line.
Set up your swipe down for the notification panel
The notification panel is one of the major things you need to set up. By default, you can't get your notification by swiping. I know you don't ever want to be searching for a notification that pops on your phone So to start getting your notification on your Samsung S22 ultra without stress, you will need to fix the swipe notification panel on your settings.

Go to settings ➡ scroll down to the bottom ➡ find and click on the enable the wipe down for notification panel.
Set up video brightness
If you like watching videos on YouTube, Tiktok, Netflix, or any other video player app, you would love to configure this video player's brightness. This feature helps you to adjust the brightness of the screen when you are watching videos on a third-party application with your phone
The video brightness features have to phase - the normal and the bright.
If you would like to make your video to be bright, you will have to set it to the bright option otherwise leave the default settings or set it to the normal option.
One cool thing about the bright option is that you can brighten or blur some third parties apps when you are watching videos with them no matter the configuration that is set by third parties.
