What is JUPEB?
JUPEB which stands for Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board is a body set up by the federal government of Nigeria to be responsible for conducting common and standard examinations for the candidates who fail to be admitted by JAMB due to their low academic performance or for the students who are seeking Direct Entry admissions into 200 level in the university without them first starting the 100 level. The JUPEB board has since been conducting this examination since 2013. They have helped thousands of students both from Nigeria and foreign countries to gain admission into the various universities across the world
How does the JUPEB certificate work?
With the JUPEB result, you can enter the university without writing the
JAMB examination. That is to say, you don't need the JAMB admission
before you can be admitted. The JUPEB certificate helps you to enter the
200 level at any university of your choice provided you meet up to the
standard of the university. The certificate serves as evidence that you
have already studied your 100 level.
Is JUPEB a good choice?
Absolutely yes for those that could not gain admission through JAMB.
Instead for you to be waiting for another year to write another JAMB
examination, it will help you to meet up with the same year that you are
supposed to graduate. But other choices are still there for you to
choose from in case you are not interested in it. IJAMB and polytechnic
part-time also do the same thing. You can still check them out.
How many years does it take to get the JUPEB certificate?
According to the management, It takes approximately a year to finish the
JUPEB course. This is an academic session that is made up of two
semesters.
JUPEB admission?
JUPEB admission is conducted by various universities which are referred
to as
affiliate universities. They are the ones that are responsible
for selling the admission form. So you can not buy the form from the
official website of the JUPEB. Any student that is interested in the
form is required to request it from one of the institutions. The
admission form is usually started to be sold out by the JUPEB management
to its affiliated university in early June of any academic session. Some
universities sometimes start selling the form as soon as they are
ordered while others have to wait for an extra month.
JUPEB admission requirements
Initially, students must have at least a minimum of 5 credits in their
O'level results including mathematics and English language, and other
relevant subjects to the candidate's desired course of study in the
university. The candidates must not have more than two sitting results.
But note that it varies from one university to another. Some schools
sometimes request what is equivalent to the one mentioned here or even
add another extra while others have their requirements to be lower. Your
JUPEB admission requirements depend on the school you choose to study
your course.

JUPEB admission form payment
JUPEB registration form sales are around
15 000 to 40, 000 naira. The admission form price differs. It
depends on the type of the university you choose to register your
admission to. Some university like the university of Abuja charges 20,
000 naira for the JUPEB form while other charges above or below it. So,
you ought to check properly for the price you can afford to pay.
